My name is Rose and this is my dog Mambo. Mambo is a one year old Blue Great Dane. He has been raised in my home by my hand since he was 9 ½ weeks old. Great Danes are amazing family and companion dogs and they have captured my heart and soul and in the very near future I will be the first to Breed the beautiful Blue Great Dane right here on Long Island. Growing up I had dogs, cats, fish, birds, rabbits and now I also have 2 Turtles named Winston and Delilah. I’ve had many careers in my life starting from a 12 year career in Real Estate to Private Investigator, Loss Prevention Detective and also I’m a New York State Licensed Security Guard.
But it wasn’t until the unfortunate loss of my Lab mix named Rajha of 13 years who sadly passed away in June 2009 that “Changed My Life”. After her passing I realized more then ever that I wanted to work with animals. With that being said I started working for animal hospitals, kennels/boarding facilities and pet stores. What I realized is that not All Dogs and Cats do well being in a kennel or in a boarding facility. It is really heart breaking to see what an impact these places can have on your beloved family pet, from loss of appetite to excessive barking & anxiety and unfortunately even in some cases the Loss of your beloved family friend. From my experience in working in these places the Safest and Happiest place for your family pet to be is at their Own Home.
Today I’m proud to announce that I’m the sole proprietor of Walk-My-Pooch. I provide In-Your Home Pet Care. Whether you're going on vacation for a week or just for the day or if you have a new Puppy or Kitten joining the family Walk-My-Pooch can take care of your family pet when you can’t. Walk-My-Pooch is the alternative to kennels and boarding facilities. I can take care of any Dog or Cat Big or Small along with Fish, Turtles, Birds & Rabbits. Some places will charge you extra for Bigger Dogs but I don’t discriminate I feel that all animals regardless of there Size all deserve that same Love, Care and Attention so why should it cost more.
